We get asked a lot of questions around pregnancy and breastfeeding, so thought we’d put some brief information to help.

It is essential to let your skin therapist know if you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant (even if you’re waiting to share your special news with friends and family), so we can tailor your treatment and skincare routine to avoid any potentially harmful ingredients 🧪

Our favourite skin treatments:

  • DMK Enzyme Therapy
  • Relaxation Facial
  • Dermaplaning
  • Lactic Peels
  • SkinPen

Your skin can change a lot during pregnancy, and your body is undergoing rapid changes at this time. Ideally, any treatment you have should be mild, and if it’s a more advanced treatment such as SkinPen dermal needling, we would prefer if you’d had this treatment with us before as your skin can be unpredictable at this time.

Skincare products:

We have a wide range of products at Loft Skin + Beauty to cater to your skin condition and concerns while you’re pregnant and breastfeeding. We can build an easy but effective home routine that adapts to your changing skin.
We have alternatives for products such as Retinol and Salicylic which are safe to use during pregnancy like lactic acid to gently exfoliate.

Ingredients to avoid during pregnancy 🙅🏼‍♀️
Retin-A, retinol, and retinyl palmitate
Salicylic acid
Benzoyl peroxide
Hydroquinone (found in some skin-lightening + pigmentation products)
Accutane

Please remember, it’s only a brief moment in time you can’t use these ingredients, and we always recommend doing your own research as to what you feel comfortable with using.
While the information provided here is as accurate as possible, it’s essential that you speak with your doctor to determine what treatments may be suitable for you.
